Latest reports having coming in from the union government which has stated that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met Mary Schapiro, vice chairman of the Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI) on Tuesday.

According to the reports coming in the union finance minister Nirmala sitaraman made the Vice Chairman of Climate Finance Leadership Initiative and spoke about her vision of developing GIFT City, India’s First Operational Smart City.

According to the Indian finance ministry as shared by ANI Schapiro who is also the former chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission has concurred that it is an opportunity time for India to play a leadership role in shaping global climate finance trends.

According to the reports Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman also met Ms. Mary Schapiro, Vice of the Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI) and the first woman to serve as Government Chair, in Washington D.C as stated by the Indian finance ministry which has shared in a Tweet.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
