Jammu And Kashmir Going Through Tough Phase: Omar Abdullah, National Conference

Latest reports have been coming in from Jammu and Kashmir where Omar Abdullah, National Conference has in an interview with ANI has said that Jammu and Kashmir is passing through a difficult phase. 

He has further stated that the security situation is a cause of concern, there's no area in Kashmir that is free from militancy. 

There is very little economic activity barring tourism. Jammu and Kashmir has high unemployment levels according to Omar Abdullah, National Conference. 

Religious freedom is one of the hallmarks of a democracy. India is a large democracy but a democracy cannot only be in words but it must be in deeds also. 

This move to control, the atmosphere of intolerance does not bode well for this country according to Omar Abdullah.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
