Three Coaches Of Puducherry Express Derailed Between Matunga And Dadar Station

Latest reports have been coming and from the economic state of the country Maharashtra where in Mumbai three coaches of Puducherry Express derailed between Matunga and Dadar Station, the Railways said.

According to the reports till now no injuries have been reported so far.

According to the sources in coordination with the railway administration, senior GRP Mumbai officials are arranging for assistance for stranded passengers. 

There has been a minor collision between Chalukya Express and Mumbai CSMT Gadag Express, near Matunga RS.

GRP Mumbai and senior railway officers on the spot. We're evacuating the passengers. No injuries reported yet. One bogie derailed. Suburban trains are running according to Railway CP.

Up and Down slow line traffic (which was suspended for safety reasons) has been restored according to Shivaji M Sutar, CPRO, Central Railway, Mumbai.

According to report from the Central Railways the following trains have been cancelled - 11005 Dadar-Puducherry Express JCO 15.4.2022 and 11139 CSMT-Gadag Express JCO 15.4.2022.

According to the sources coming in from Railway CP Quaiser Khalid who has while speaking to ANI has said that we are taking Gadag express to Dadar RS. 

He has further added that all passengers and their belongings are safe. Chalukya/Puducherry Express passengers evacuated. Restoration of normalcy underway.

According to the sources the Suburban trains on April 16, 2022, will work as per the holiday schedule on the main line only according to Central Railways.

Passengers of cancelled trains can claim refund from any PRS centre for the next 3 days according Shivaji M Sutar, CPRO, Central Railways, Mumbai.

Latest reports shared by the Central Railway CPRO has stated that the re-railment of coaches, OHE wire and track fitness work is being carried out on war footing. 

This work is expected to be completed by 12pm today. During this period, fast line traffic will be diverted to slow corridor between Byculla and Matunga stations according to Central Railway CPRO.

According to the sources two of the 3 derailed coaches have been rerailed, one remains. Down and Up local lines are functional and services are underway. 

We expect to clear Up through-line within an hour. Down through line will take some more time to be restored according to Anil Kr Lahoti, Gen Manager, Central Railway.

Some services will need to be terminated in Mulund. Passengers will be able to move by road according to Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway.
