2 Died, 4 Injured! As Temple Chariot Turns Around Tamil Nadu.


Latest reports have been coming from Tamil Nadu, Two men were killed and four others injured when a huge chariot of a popular temple in Papparapatti collapsed on Monday, police said.
Tamil Nadu Prime Minister MK Stalin expressed his sadness at the incident and announced the release of Rs 5 lakh per person to the families of the deceased.

The incident took place when the decorated chariot of the Kaliamman temple surrounded important streets near the place of worship as part of the Vaikasi festival.

"The truck overturned and suddenly two men were killed and trapped under the wheelbarrow," said a police official.

Volunteers pulling the wagon and spectators rushed to rescue those trapped under the wagon, he said.

The deceased were identified as C Manoharan (57) and G Saravanan (50) of the region.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased. In a statement in Chennai, he said four people were injured in the crash and were being treated at Dharmapuri Government Medical College.

In addition to thanking the families of the two men who died, Stalin also announced an amount of Rs 50,000 each to the injured, adding that the money would be donated by the Prime Minister's Social Assistance Fund (CMPRF).
