Yoga Is No Longer a Part of Life, It Is a Lifestyle: PM Modi

Yoga is no longer a part of life, but a way of life, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi as she led the country's Yoga Day celebrations from Mysuru in Karnataka.
Speaking at an event at Mysore Palace, the Prime Minister said Yoga is a problem solver and brings inner peace. "The peace that comes from yoga is not personal. Yoga brings peace to our community. Yoga brings peace to our nations and the world. Also, Yoga brings peace to the universe," he said.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by AYUSH Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and Prime Minister Basavaraj S Bommai.

"No matter how stressful the situation we are in, meditating for a few minutes relaxes and enhances our productivity. So we should not consider yoga as an extra work. We should know yoga and live yoga and make it our own," the Prime Minister said. Said the Minister.

"Yoga is no longer a part of life, but a way of life," he added.

"This whole universe begins with our body and soul. The whole universe begins with us. Also, Yoga makes us aware of everything inside us and creates a sense of awareness," the Prime Minister said.

Since 2015, International Day of Yoga is celebrated worldwide on June 21 every year. This year's Yoga Day theme is "Yoga for Humanity".

75 ministers will lead Yoga Day celebrations in 75 historic locations this year.
