22 places in Tamil Nadu raided in connection with Sri Lankan Narco mafia

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted searches at 22 locations in Tamil Nadu in connection with a Sri Lankan drug mafia operating in collaboration with a Pakistani drug and arms dealer to revive the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), officials said.
The NIA registered a case on July 8 based on the information it gathered.

Searches were conducted on the premises of the accused in Tiruppur, Chengalpattu and Thiruchirappally districts of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, they added.

Drug and arms smugglers are said to be operating in India and Sri Lanka in collaboration with Pakistani drug and arms maker Haji Salim and are working to revive the LTTE, the NIA said in a statement.

"The searches led to the recovery and seizure of digital devices and various incriminating documents," the agency said.
