India has reported 16,866 new cases of COVID-19, the Ministry of Health and Welfare said on Monday.
The country reported 20,279 new infections on Sunday.
A total of 41 deaths were reported with 18,148 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
The active number of cases in India currently stands at 1,50,877. Its daily positivity rate is 7.03 percent.
According to the ministry, 16,82,390 doses have been administered under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive in the last 24 hours.
A new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination was launched on June 21, 2021. Vaccination efforts were boosted by availability of more vaccines, better visibility of vaccine availability for states and UTs to better plan and streamline vaccine. Supply Chain.
As part of a nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India is supporting states and UTs by providing them free of cost vaccines against COVID.
In a new phase of universalization of vaccination against COVID-19, the Union government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75 percent of the vaccines produced by vaccine manufacturers in the country to states and UTs.
