The number of COVID-19 cases in India rose by 18,840 in a day to 4,36,04,394, while the number of active cases rose to 1,25,028, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
The death toll rose to 5,25,386, with another 43 succumbing to the viral disease.
The number of active cases increased by 2,693 in a day and now accounts for 0.29 percent of the total number of infections, while the national recovery rate of COVID-19 was recorded at 98.51 percent, the health ministry said.
The daily positivity rate was 4.14 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 4.09 percent, according to the Ministry of Health.
