New Delhi/Bhopal: The website for the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention was jointly launched by the External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar and the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention is a flagship event of the Government of India and provides an important platform to engage and connect with the overseas Indian Diaspora.
The 17th PBD Convention is being organized from 08-10 January 2023 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It will be held in a physical format after a gap of four years. The last PBD Convention in 2021 was held virtually during the Covid pandemic.
The theme of PBD Convention 2023 is "Diaspora: Reliable partners for India’s progress in Amrit Kaal”.
Launching the website, EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar said that, since 2014, the Government has accorded the highest priority to our more than 32 million Diaspora and that our engagement is founded on the 4Cs of Care, Connect, Celebrate and Contribute.
Cooperation extended by the NRIs is incomparable: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in his remarks said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have united the overseas Indians into one family. The cooperation extended by the NRIs during the Covid period and on various occasions is incomparable.
PBD Convention 2023 will be inaugurated by PM Modi: The PBD Convention 2023 will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 09 January 2023. The Youth PBD will be held on 08 January 2023, in partnership with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
President will confer Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards: On 10 January 2023, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will confer Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards and preside over the Valedictory Session.
Online registration begins: Launch of the PBD website (pbdindia.gov.in) marks the commencement of online registration for participation in the PBD Convention 2023. The website also provides various other information about PBD 2023.
