Madhya Pradesh: Mountaineer Asha Rajubai Malviya will promote tourism destinations of state on bicycle; will cover 20000 km


Bhopal: National Athlete and Mountaineer Ms. Asha Rajubai Malviya will tour many states of the country on a 20 thousand kilometer long cycle journey which will begin on the foundation day of Madhya Pradesh - November 1. During the journey, she will be a part of the campaign to take the state's tourist destinations, natural beauty, rich history and culture to every nook and corner of the country. 

Tourism, Culture and Religious Trust and Endowment Minister Usha Thakur will flag off the cycle yatra. Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture and Managing Director Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla handed over the most modern GPS equipped Hybrid Cycle Rome-2 and cycle kit from Tourism Board to Ms. Asha as cooperation in the journey.

To make tourist destinations safer and accessible for women, especially solo female travellers, various schemes and projects are being operated by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board on priority. In view of this, the board has welcomed the initiative of national athlete and mountaineer Ms. Asha Rajubai Malviyawho belongs to Khilchipur, district Rajgarh by accepting her proposal to tour the country by bicycle. The yatra will end in Delhi after 11 months.

Has scaled snowy peaks: Ms. Asha has hoisted the tricolor by scaling snowy peaks like Tenzing Khan (19,545 ft) and BC Rai (20,500 ft) on the Nepal-Bhutan-Bangladesh border. Her name is recorded in the National Book of Records OMG Book.

Asha will come to Indore on November 5: From November 1, the cycle journey will leave from Bhopal, which will be flagged off by Culture Minister Usha Thakur. The Yatra will reach Indore on 5th November. This yatra will cover 28 capitals of the country from MP to Gujarat and Maharashtra. Asha will complete this journey in about 260 days.
