Madhya Pradesh: Tiger prowling Bhopal's MANIT, Techno Search event postponed

Bhopal: A tiger is on the prowl at Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal's Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) and its pug marks have been found on the fourth day on Friday. Central India's biggest event Techno Search-2020, scheduled to be held 8th and 9th October has been postponed till further orders. This decision was taken after the meeting of the in-charge director Prof G Dixit with the forest department and district administration officials on Thursday.

It has also been decided in the meeting to take offline classes from Friday. The tiger had a day earlier killed a cow. Bhopal Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Alok Pathak says that the tigers come back to their prey, so the camera has been installed.

It is believed that tiger has reached MANIT from Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) via Pt. Khushilal Ayurvedic College.

No one has seen the tiger physically but pug marks have been seen. The big cat has attacked two or three cows. Forest department wants the tiger, possibly two or three years old, to move out naturally.

Alok Pathak said big cats from Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary, spread over neighbouring Raisen and Sehore districts, have now been seen in Bhopal's Kerwa area here.
