Maharashtra: Eknath Shinde Welcomes Two Swords and a Shield Poll Symbol

Mumbai: The Election Commission has allotted 'two swords and a shield' as the election symbol to the Shiv Sena faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The Shinde faction, which has now been named as 'Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena', can use this symbol for the Andheri East assembly by-election, scheduled for November 3.

Shinde hailed the allocation of the poll symbol and said that his group was the true torchbearer for the steadfast Hindutva ideology established by Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray.

"We will be the shield that protects the innocent and the sword that destroys the rogues," he wrote on Twitter.
