Will Packaged Sweets Sales Pick Up This Diwali

New Delhi: After two years, this year Diwali is expected to be celebrated without any restrictions. The packaged sweets industry is expected to see a 20-25% increase in sales this Diwali as compared to pre-Covid.

In fact, for the packaged sweets industry, festivals have started well with Rakshabandhan. According to the people associated with the industry, this time Raksha Bandhan saw a growth of 15-20% on a yearly basis and the same trend has been seen during Navratri as well.

Firoz Naqvi, Director General, Federation of Sweets and Namkeen Manufacturers said that the country's sweets and namkeen industry is benefiting a lot from packaging. Customers who had switched to chocolates during festivals are now also switching back to Desi sweets because they are attractively packaged. Indian sweets manufacturers are now using attractive packaging.

The festivals of Raksha Bandhan, Ganesh Utsav and Navratri have been very good for the sweets and namkeen industry. Corporate customers are putting more emphasis on making customized gift packs.
