T-20 World Cup: England Registers One-Sided Win OverTeam India


Adelaide: Team India dashed everyone's hopes in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup on Thursday. India could not save the target of 169 runs. The bowlers could not take a single wicket. England won by 10 wickets in the 16th over itself.

English opener Alex Hales made 86 at a strike rate of 183. Captain Jos Buttler scored 80 at a strike rate of 163. Both the batsmen made no mistake and chased down the target very easily.

BIGGEST DEFEAT: This is the biggest defeat, or biggest win, of a team in the total of 16 semi-finals in the history of T-20 World Cup. In terms of win-loss, one record has been made and one is tied.

England beat India to set the record for most wins by 10 wickets in the semi-finals. Also equalized the victory in the shortest over. Earlier, in the T20 World Cup, England had defeated Sri Lanka in 16 overs. 12 years ago, that is, in 2010. This tournament took place in West Indies.

Despite loss, Virat Kohli has become the first batsman in the world to touch the 4000 runs mark in T-20 Internationals. Team India has given a target of 169 to England. India scored 168/6 in stipulated 20 overs. Virat got out after scoring 50 runs in 40 balls.
