Veteran Actor Vikram Gokhale Passes Away

Mmbai: Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale has passed away at the age of 82. He breathed his last at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune. He was hospitalized for the last 15 days.

Was seen in role of Aishwarya Rai's father: Vikram Gokhale was seen in the role of Aishwarya Rai's father in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. Apart from this, he was also seen in films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Dil Se, Agneepath, De Dana Dan, 'Hichki, Nikamma and Mission Mangal.

Condolences poured in on social media, as netizens paid a tribute to the late actor.

Was seen in the role of Aishwarya Rai's father: Vikram Gokhale was seen in the role of Aishwarya's father in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. Apart from this, he was also a part of films like 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', 'Dil Se', 'Agneepath', 'De Dana Dan', 'Hichki', 'Nikamma', and 'Mission Mangal'.

Also worked in the television show Udaan: Vikram Gokhale had made a distinct identity in television as well. He was a part of the famous show 'Udaan' which ran on Doordarshan from 1989 to 1991.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
