BBC Documentary On Modi: Uproar After News Of Screening In Jamia, 4 students Detained

New Delhi: After the uproar over the screening of the controversial BBC documentary at JNU on Tuesday, it is now planned to be screened at Jamia Millia Islamia University on Wednesday. However, there has already been an uproar in the university.

The screening of the BBC documentary was to be held in Jamia today after 6.00 pm. However, today in the day itself, the police have taken four students into custody in this matter from gate number eight of Jamia. Since then the students have been creating ruckus in the university campus.

Due to this, clouds of doubt are hovering over the screening in the evening. Some students say that it will be decided today only by the evening whether the screening will take place or not.

No screening without permission

On the issue of screening of the documentary, the Jamia administration has clarified that there will be no student meeting or screening of any film on the campus without permission. The university is taking every step so that the peace of the campus is not disturbed.

The BBC documentary will also be screened at Jadavpur University in West Bengal.

A group of Left students watched the screening of government-banned "India: The Modi Question" on mobiles late Tuesday evening despite a ban by the university administration. Students gave a call to watch the screening at 9 pm on the lawn of the Student Activity Center. Earlier, at 7.30 a.m., due to a sudden technical glitch, the entire campus lost power.
