Khelo India Youth Games: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Launches Theme Song, Unveils Mascot; 7000 Players Will Show Their Skill

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the theme song of Khelo India Youth Games by pressing the remote button. He also flagged off the smart torch and unveiled the mascot of the games at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal. 

Union Minister of State for Sports Nishith Pramanik, Madhya Pradesh Minister for Sports Yashodhara Raje Scindia and other ministers and officials were present.

The atmosphere was electrified with a laser display in the sky to convey the message of Khelo India Youth Games.

Bhopal will be made sports hub, sports now a career

CM Chouhan said that Bhopal will be made a sports hub. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Sports Ministry for organizing Khelo India Youth Games in Madhya Pradesh.

CM Chouhan said that the player who wins in international and Olympic games will be given Rs 5 lakh by the state government for training. Players who win medals will be directly given the post of DSP and Deputy Collector. He said that sports will also be a career. 

Platform to talented players

Union Minister of State for Sports Nishith Pramanik said that Madhya Pradesh is beautiful and full of diversity. He said that Prime Minister Modi is engaged in the making of Sports India from Young India by involving the youth power of India. 

He said the Central Government is working to provide a platform to the talented players of the country through Mission Khelo. This year’s Khelo India will break all previous records. More than 7 thousand players will join it. It will create history.

7000 players will show their sports skills

Madhya Pradesh is hosting the fifth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games. In this sports event, to be held from the 30th of January to the 11th of February, nearly 7000 players will show their sports skills in eight different cities for 13 day.

The fifth edition of Khelo India Youth Games will be held in eight cities of the state, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Khargone (Maheshwar). One game (cycling) will be held in Delhi.

Water sports included for first time

For the first time water sports namely Kayaking Canoeing, Canoe Salaam and Fencing will be part of this edition of Khelo India Games. Khelo India Youth Games 5.0 will have 303 international and 1089 national officials as part of these games. For Khelo India, about 2 thousand volunteers will be deployed in different game venues.
