Nashik Accident: Bus On Way To Shirdi Collides With Truck, 10 Dead


Nashik: A major road accident took place in Nashik, Maharashtra on Friday morning. A private luxury bus collided with a truck on the Nashik-Sinnar road, killing 10 people and injuring 40 others. 

According to the information received, all the passengers in the bus were going to Shirdi for a darshan of Sai Baba. The dead include 7 women and 3 men. The injured have been admitted to Sinnar Rural Hospital and Yashwant Hospital. The condition of some of them is said to be serious. 

As soon as the information about the accident was received, police and administration officials reached the spot and sent the dead bodies for postmortem.

Deceased were residents of Thane

According to the information received from the police, the passengers in the bus were residents of Ambernath in Thane district and were going to Shirdi. Officials said the accident took place around 7 am near Pathare Shivar in Nashik's Sinnar tehsil, about 180 km from Mumbai. 

According to the people present on the spot, the collision was so strong that both the bus and the truck were badly damaged. Officials said that the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, investigation is underway. The number of deaths in this accident may increase, as the condition of some of the injured is said to be critical.
