Oscar: Naatu-Naatu Song Of Film RRR Nominated


The final nominations for Oscars 2023 have been announced. In this, the song Naatu-Naatu from the Indian film RRR has been nominated in the Best Original Song category. Recently, the song Natu-Natu had won the Best Song category award at the Golden Globe Awards. While RRR won Best Foreign Language Film and Naatu-Naatu won Best Song at the Critics' Choice Awards.

"Naatu Naatu" is a Telugu-language song composed by M. M. Keeravani for the soundtrack of RRR. The lyrics are written by Chandrabose and is sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. The lyrical version of the song was released on 10 November 2021, through the record labels Lahari Music and T-Series. Whereas, the full video song was released on 11 April 2022.
The song was also released in Hindi as "Naacho Naacho", in Tamil as "Naattu Koothu", in Kannada as "Halli Naatu" and in Malayalam as "Karinthol". The hook step involving N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan dancing together became popular. 

Song received a nomination for Best Original Song

The song received a nomination for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards and won the Best Original Song award at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, making it the first Asian as well as the first Indian song to win the award.

The film won another Critics' Choice award -- Best Foreign Language Film.
RRR (Rise Roar Revolt), a pre-independence fictional story, follows two real-life Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR) in the 1920s.

Two documentaries also in race for Oscar

The nominations for 23 categories of the 95th Academy Awards were announced by Hollywood actors Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams on Tuesday. The Oscars will take place on March 12.
Apart from Naatu Naatu, The Elephant Whisperers has been nominated in the Documentary Short Subject category at Oscars 2023, while All That Breathes has been nominated in the Documentary Feature Film. category.
