Ajmer: The Central University of Rajasthan in Ajmer district has suspended 10 of its students for 14 days for watching BBC's documentary 'India: The Modi Question' on PM Modi on Republic Day.
Information about this decision has been given in an order issued by the proctor of the university on Friday, a day after watching the film.
According to this order, after an inquiry by the Proctorial Board, these students are suspended from both study activity and hostel for 14 days under Ordinance No. 47 of the University with immediate effect.
It has been told that all these students were watching this documentary on mobile phones. The university administration has called it an administrative action.
Students told to maintain law and order on campus
An advisory issued by the proctor in the name of the students has asked the students to maintain law and order in the campus and avoid sloganeering.
At the same time, in another order issued by the registrar of the university, it has been told that the competent authority has decided to ban the exhibition of this documentary with immediate effect, so all department heads should make their students aware about this.
The order also stated that any specific academic activity in which gathering is required has to be cleared by the Registrar with the due recommendations of Deans Students Welfare.
