New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her 5th and 75th budget of the country. Sitharaman said that this is the first budget of Amritkal, which is based on the foundation laid in the previous budget. We want such an India, where everyone including women, farmers, scheduled castes get a place.
The presidency of the G20 has given India an opportunity to present its strong claim on the economic front at the global level. The per capita income has doubled and further increased to 1.97 lakhs.
7 crore people connected with EPFO
Internationally, India used to be the tenth largest economy in the world, now it is at the fifth position. More than seven crore people of the country are connected with EPFO.
Globally, the economies of countries are in trouble, but India's growth rate is estimated to be up to 7 percent.
India's per capita income has increased to Rs 1.97 lakh, Sitharaman said in his speech. Government's efforts since 2014 have ensured better quality of life for citizens of the country, she said.
We have made significant progress in many Sustainable Development Goals, and the government made cash transfer of Rs 2.2 lakh crore under PM-KISAN Yojana, she said.
