ICC Women's T20 World Cup: India In Semifinal, Edge Ireland By DLS Method

India went through to the semi-finals of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup after rain paused Ireland's recovery in Gqeberha in the Group 2 clash. 

India became the third team to book a place in the Women's T20 World Cup 2023 semi-finals after they edged Ireland by DLS method at St George's Park on Monday.

Team India won the toss and elected to bat. Opener Smriti Mandhana's career-best 87 helped India post 155 for 6 in 20 overs.

In response, Ireland had scored 54 runs in 8.2 overs when it started raining. Team India was 5 runs ahead in the DLS method. The match could not be completed due to rain and India won the match.

India has become second team from Group-2 to reach semi-finals

With this victory, Team India has become the second team from Group-2 to reach the semi-finals. The England team has already qualified. There will be a match between England and Pakistan on Tuesday. The result of this match will decide which team India will face in the semi-finals.

India has made it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup for the third time in a row. Earlier in 2018 and 2020 also the team reached the last-4. In 2020, India also played the final, but then it had to lose the title after losing to Australia.
