Pawan Khera Gets Relief, Granted Interim Bail By SC, Was Arrested For Mocking PM Modi's father

New Delhi: Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, arrested in the case of controversial remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has got interim bail from the Supreme Court. Khera was taken off the flight and arrested at Delhi airport today while he was on his way to attend the 75th session of the party which is being organized in Raipur.

The Hazratganj police in Lucknow had registered an FIR against Pawan Khera on Monday on the complaint of BJP's Mahanagar president for making inapprpriate remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's father. 

The BJP leader made  the video of the disputed statement available as evidence to the police. Taking cognizance of it, the police had started investigation.

Manu Singhvi reached SC against Khera's arrest

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi reached the Supreme Court against the arrest of Khera. A three-judge bench headed by CJI DY Chandrachud granted interim bail to Khera till Tuesday. That means the police will not be able to arrest Kheda till he applies for regular bail.

The CJI, however, refused to quash the FIR lodged against Pawan Kheda. After which the Supreme Court has given a big relief to Pawan Kheda. The Supreme Court has given relief to Pawan Kheda till Monday. Pawan Kheda was arrested from the airport for making derogatory statements on PM Modi.

BJP had attacked Cong

BJP had been attacking Congress regarding the controversial statement of Pawan Kheea. The BJP says that the manner in which the Congress has made fun of the Prime Minister's father is condemnable. However, this is not the first time that the Congress has personally attacked the PM. The BJP alleged that the Congress has a problem with the fact that how can a person coming from an ordinary background sit on such a big post.
