Ahmedabad: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday visited the Somnath temple in Gujarat and also launched a modern mobile app modified by the trust.
Shah performed Jalabhishek after having darshan of the supernatural form of Somnath Mahadev. His wife and granddaughter also joined him for darshan and worship.
He devotionally performed Dhwaja Puja of Somnath Mahadev, Someshwar Puja and Pagh Puja recently started by the Trust. After the conclusion of the puja, he offered the worshipped turban (pagh) to Somnath Mahadev's adornment.
After this, Somnath Jyotirlinga was decorated with turban. Somnath Trust Trustee JD Parmar and Secretary Yogendrabhai Desai welcomed him on the occasion.
A modern mobile app modified by Shri Shah Trust was also launched today. This app will be a one stop solution for devotees visiting Somnath.
Many tasks including darshan, room booking, sightseeing information, online prasad or Vastra Prasad orders can be done with one touch through Somnath Yatra app.
