Rajasthan Congress Crisis: Sukhjinder Randhawa In Jaipur Today For Damage Control As Pilot Sits On Fast

Jaipur: Since the announcement of Sachin Pilot's fast, the political tussle in the Congress has increased. This is the first time in the last two decades that any leader is sitting on fast against its own government under the Congress rule.

Speculations are also rife that Pilot is in mood of a decisive battle and he could leave the party and float his own new party. However, Pilot has himself set such speculations to rest when he said there is no question of leaving the party.

Pilot's move is anti-party: Randhawa

Internal politics has heated up. Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Randhawa is reaching Jaipur on Tuesday afternoon for damage control in the Pilot case. In-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has termed Pilot's move as anti-party. Randhawa will meet CM Ashok Gehlot and Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara.

Pilot never discussed this issue with me: Randhawa

Randhawa said- Sachin Pilot's fast is against the party and it is an anti-party activity. If he has any problem with his own government then it can be discussed in the party instead of with media and public. I am in charge for the last 5 months and Pilot never discussed this issue with me. I am in touch with him and still appeal to him for talks. Because he is an asset for the Congress party.

Former Deputy CM of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot along with his workers is sitting on a day-long fast from 10 am to 4 pm at Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur on Tuesday. He announced the fast on the issue of not taking action on scams when Vasundhara Raje was the CM.

On Sunday, shortly after Pilot's press conference, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh issued a statement praising Gehlot's performance as chief minister. Jairam Ramesh said- Rajasthan will go to the polls on the basis of the work of the government.

Soon after Pilot's announcement, the Congress said that the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government has implemented schemes that have greatly benefited the people. The party said it will seek a renewed mandate on the strength of these "landmark achievements" and the collective efforts of the organisation.
