AAP Leader Satyendar Jain Hospitalized; Kejriwal Attacks Modi Government


New Delhi:  Former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain has been admitted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital after he fell in the bathroom in Tihar Jail Wednesday night. This is the second time within a week that Jain has been taken to hospital. Just a few days ago, he was taken to the Safdarjung hospital for a spinal problem. 


He was examined by doctors and for a second opinion after he was taken to the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital on Saturday. On May 20 also, he was brought to Deen Dayal Hospital due to the same problem.


SC was informed about his health


Jain's lawyer had given information about his health in the Supreme Court .Satyendar Jain's lawyer Abhishek M Singhvi had cited Satyendar Jain's deteriorating health during the hearing in the Supreme Court. Singhvi had said that he has become a skeleton, he has lost 35 kilos in jail. His health is continuously deteriorating and his case is at number 416 on the waiting list.


Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on May 31, 2022, in connection with a money laundering case. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while wishing his former cabinet colleague a speedy recovery, attacked the Modi government for its arrogance and atrocities on his former cabinet colleague.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "I pray to God for the better health of Satyendra Jain ji. The people of Delhi and the country are watching this arrogance and oppression of the BJP government very well. God will never forgive these tyrants. People are with us in this struggle, God is with us, we are disciples of Sardar Bhagat Singh ji. Our fight against tyranny, injustice and dictatorship will continue.'


Jain has appealed for bail in SC


Satyendra Jain is in custody since 31 May 2022. After his bail plea was rejected by the Delhi High Court on 6 April, he appealed for bail in the Supreme Court. 


Summer vacations have started in the Supreme Court. Jain's lawyer had said that he should be given the chance of hearing in the vacation bench. On this, the Supreme Court had given him permission to go to the vacation bench. A bench of Justices AS Bopanna and Hima Kohli issued a notice to the ED on Satyendra's plea in the money laundering case, seeking its response.
