Naveen Patnaik Gives Jolt To Nitish Kumar's Opposition Unity Efforts; Story Behind Curtain Is This

Bhubaneshwar: Political parties across the country are eyeing Bihar's CM Nitish Kumar. They are trying to unite the opposition parties. For this, he is continuously meeting the leaders of different parties with mixed outcomes. Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal founder Naveen Patnaik is caught in a dilemma.

CM Naveen Patnaik has not yet given any such assurance to Nitish that he will stay with him or not. However, Nitish wants that somehow he should get the support of Biju Janata Dal (BJD). \

Nitish met Sharad Pawar

Recently, Nitish Kumar met Maratha stalwart Sharad Pawar. While Nitish was explaining the formula to defeat the BJP, on the other hand, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the meeting he made it clear that he will not go with anyone. His party Biju Janata Dal will contest the Lok Sabha elections in Odisha on its own.

Big blow to Nitish's unity efforts

This is being considered as the first big blow to the Nitish's efforts of the opposition alliance. It was only after a long meeting with Naveen Patnaik in Odisha that Nitish Kumar turned to Mumbai to meet Sharad Pawar. After meeting Sharad Pawar, Nitish Kumar had claimed that he was trying to bring opposition parties together.

Patnaik's party supports BJP

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik may have termed the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a formal meeting, but a big political meaning is being extracted from this meeting. Naveen Patnaik has been adopting the policy of Ekla Chalo Re in the state, but at the central level, if any issue happens inside or outside the Parliament, then his party directly or indirectly supports the BJP.

The Biju Janata Dal has been a part of the BJP-led NDA alliance in the past. For some time, the BJP was campaigning very aggressively in Odisha. Therwfore Naveen Patnaik tried to give a message to the top leadership of the BJP by coming close to the Opposition.

Patnaik will not meet opposition parties

On repeated questioning by media persons, Naveen Patnaik told the meeting with the Prime Minister was about the shifting of Bhubaneshwar International Airport. He said that the Prime Minister has assured that he will provide all possible help.

Asked if there are any plans to meet other leaders of the opposition parties? Because the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee also met him? The CM of Odisha bluntly said that he neither intends to meet anyone nor has any such plans. So far, BJD leaders have not attended any meeting called by the opposition parties.
