Cyclone Biparjoy Landfall Process Begins; Strong Winds Blowing With Heavy Rainfall; Trees, Poles Are Falling


 

Cyclone Biparjoy has started hitting Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat. Due to the cyclone, the winds are blowing at a speed of 125 kmph. The wind speed will reach up to 150 km per hour. Due to strong winds, trees and poles have started falling in many areas of Saurashtra and Kutch.
 

IMD says the landfall will continue till midnight. In view of the danger caused by the cyclone, so far more than 94 thousand people have been rescued from the coastal areas and shifted to safer locations.


According to the weather department, 'This is a very severe cyclonic storm. Due to this, trees, small houses, mud and tin houses can be damaged. A red alert has been issued for Kutch and Saurashtra. It is raining heavily with strong winds in these areas.

 

Inspector General AK Harbola of Commander Coast Guard Region-North West said – We have kept 15 ships and 7 aircraft ready in Gujarat. 27 teams of NDRF are also deployed.

 

Effect of storm in 10 other states

 

According to the Meteorological Department, apart from Gujarat, the effect of this storm is being seen in 10 other states. These include Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Kerala, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya. Strong winds are blowing in many areas here and it is raining.
