Gwalior: President Droupadi Murmu said that students should strive forward with self-confidence in the world. Murmu was addressing the students who received degrees at the fourth convocation ceremony of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (Triple ITM) in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Chairman of Triple ITM Board of Directors Deepak Ghaisas and Director of Triple ITM Prof. Srinivas Singh were on stage.
Kakodkar conferred with honorary degree
President Draupadi Murmu honoured Padma Vibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar, former chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, with the honorary degree of Doctor of Science at the ceremony. She also awarded gold medals to 7 students. In the year 2023, 283 pass outs were awarded B. Tech, M. Tech and Management degrees Murmu also laid the foundation stone of a 500-bed hostel at Triple ITM. She also met the children of slums and presented books to them.
Murmu said that this convocation ceremony is also special because the institute has completed 25 years of its establishment. Appreciating Gwalior, Murmu said that the city is one of the most beautiful cities of the state. It is not only famous for palaces, temples and forts; it also has an important place in Indian history.
Efforts necessary to remove disparity: Dr. Kakodkar
Padma Vibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar, the country's renowned nuclear scientist and former chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, who played a critical role in the Pokhran nuclear test, said that India is making continuous progress. We all have to make joint efforts to keep the country ahead in the global level competition and strive to remove disparity in the country.
Director of the Institute Prof. Srinivas Singh gave the welcome address and presented the progress report.
Murmu reached the convocation in a procession
President Droupadi Murmu, Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chairman and members and directors of the Board of Directors of the Institute reached the convocation ceremony with procession. President Murmu and other guests inaugurated the convocation ceremony by lighting the lamp in the auditorium of the institute. The ceremony began and concluded with the National Anthem rendered by the Army Band.
President meets children and presents books
President Murmu met 10 children from nearby localities studying under the Student Knowledge Movement scheme run by the students of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management since 2016. These 10 children include Ku. Ragini Rathore, Ku. Jyoti, Aman Batham, Mohit Namdev, Ku. Shivangi, Ritik Patel, Ku. Sheetal, Ku. Gauri Sikarwar, Ku. Devki Batham and Brijendra Pal. She interacted with children studying in classes V to X and presented them with books, bags and chocolates. Regular classes for the children living in nearby slums are conducted by the first year students of the institute. Second year students play the role of co-ordinator of these classes.
During the meeting with the President, Kumari Komal Batham presented her pencil sketch. Brahmakumari sisters and brothers also presented holy symbols to the President.
These students got gold medal
Piyush Chetwani MBA, Ritika Tomar M.Tech., Saumya Pathak MBA, Yash Agarwal M.Tech (CN), Ashwani Kumar Padi M.Tech (IS), Musheer Ul Haq M.Tech (VLSI) and Debaditya Pal B.Tech. Double Gold Medals were awarded to Piyush Chetwani and Ritika Tomar.
