What Issues Discussed In Meeting Regarding Rajasthan Congress? What Rahul Gandhi, Sachin Pilot Said?

Jaipur: The ongoing tussle between senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is not hidden from anyone. A meeting of Congress leaders of Rajasthan was organized in New Delhi on some similar issues in which many Congress leaders of the state including Sachin Pilot participated.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Rahul Gandhi, AICC in-charge of state Sukhjinder Randhawa and several Rajasthan cabinet ministers were present in the meeting. Sachin Pilot was also present at the meeting, however, CM Ashok Gehlot, who is recovering from fractures in both his toes, made his presence virtually.

It may be mentioned here that there was a lot of discussion about this meeting since morning. It was believed that a major decision could be taken regarding Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot in this meeting.

What Pilot Said?

Sachin Pilot on Thursday said that the Rajasthan Congress remains united and there is no question of a split. Pilot said: "We all have only one group — the Rahul Gandhi-Mallikarjun Kharge group." At the meeting top Congress leaders praised the Gehlot government. They also asked him to take strict action in cases of Dalit atrocities.

What Rahul Gandhi said

Gandhi said at the meeting that BJP can be defeated if we contest the election unitedly. Tell me whenever my support is required, he asserted. Gandhi tried to convince the warring sides saying Congress can retain power if party leaders remained united.

According to the information received regarding the meeting, Rahul Gandhi took the Congress's feedback from the leaders. Apart from this, he discussed the survey done by Rahul's team. Also said that Congress will contest elections in Rajasthan on the basis of government schemes. He gave time to all the leaders to speak for five minutes. Along with this, Rahul Gandhi wrote on his Facebook page that once again Congress will form the government in Rajasthan. Congress will continue to work for the betterment of the people.

What decision taken about Sachin Pilot

It is believed that there was no discussion about Sachin Pilot in the Congress meeting. In the coming time, a separate meeting of five people will be organized on this issue. However, no information has been revealed about who these five people will be. On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has praised the plans of the Congress government.

House-to-house campaign will start

Later addressing a press conference, KC Venugopal while apprising about the meeting said that a slew of decisions were taken in view of the upcoming Assembly polls in Rajasthan.

"On elections preparations, we have taken important decisions today. A house-to-house campaign in Rajasthan will start from tomorrow. Our ministers, MLAs, leaders and workers will highlight government's schemes and achievements under the campaign," said Venugopal, who is also the party's General Secretary in-charge Organisation.

Among others, the senior Congress leader also informed that all the leaders present in the meeting unanimously resolved to fight the upcoming elections unitedly.

Everybody decided to fight elections unitedly

In an apparent reference to the reported rift between Gehlot and Sachin Pilot, Venugopal said, "Earlier there was differences, the speciality of today's meeting is everybody decided to fight the elections unitedly."

Referring to the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said, "The yatra has created a big atmosphere in Rajasthan. The entire situation of Rajasthan has been changed after the yatra. We are very sure that Congress will win again in Rajasthan."

Earlier, Kharge in a tweet wrote, "Public service, relief and upliftment of all, Rajasthan growing on the path of progress. Congress has taken the schemes of inclusive development and public welfare to every household in Rajasthan."
