The date of the India-Pakistan match to be held in Ahmadabad on October 15 in the ODI World Cup-2023 has been changed. This match will now be played on 14 October. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to change the date.
Pakistan-Sri Lanka match on Oct 10 instead of Oct 12
The date of Pakistan's match against Sri Lanka has also been changed. This match was to be played on 12 October. Now this match will be held on 10 October. Due to this change, Pakistan will get a gap of 3 days before the match against India.
ICC will release new schedule
The ODI World Cup will be played from October 5 and the International Cricket Council (ICC) released its schedule in late June. Timings of some matches of other teams may also be changed. ICC will release the new schedule soon.
Security agencies had expressed concern
Security agencies had expressed concern over the match to be held on October 15 in Ahmadabad. Agencies had said that this date would be the first day of Navratri. In such a situation, there may be a problem in providing adequate security. After this ICC and BCCI contacted Pakistan Board and talked about changing the date of 2 group matches.
India’s opening match against Australia
The Indian team will start its campaign in the World Cup 2023 with a match against Australia. This match between India and Australia will be played on 8 October. Both teams will be face to face in Chennai on 8 October.
Pakistan wanted to change the venue of its two league matches in the 2023 ODI World Cup, but according to reports, ICC and BCCI have rejected its demand. The basis for rejecting the demand is that Pakistan had not told why it wanted to change the venue.
