Asian Games-2023: India Creates History, Equestrian Team Bags First Gold After 41 Years


India created history at the Asian Games-2023 as the Equestrian mixed team bagged their first gold medal after 41 years.


The Indian mixed team of Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Vipul Chheda, Sudipti Hajela and Divyakriti Singh emerged victorious with a total score of 209.25 in the Equestrian Dressage event.


This is India's third gold medal at the Asian Games 2023.


India bagged two medals in sailing


Neha Thakur, 17, led the show with a silver while Eabad Ali claimed a bronze, as India bagged two medals in sailing at the Asian Games here on Tuesday.



Neha powered India to the first medal of the day when she finished second in girls' dinghy ILCA-4 event.


India's second medal came in the men's windsurfer RS:X event where Eabad Ali with a net score of 52 points came third behind Natthaphon Phonoppharat of Thailand and gold medalist Wonwoo Cho of Korea.


With this, India now has 13 medals in the Asian Games. Which includes two gold.


Men's 4x100 meter medley relay team in finals


Whereas in swimming, the men's 4x100 meter medley relay team has reached the finals with a national record. Ankita Raina has reached the quarter finals of tennis. Earlier on Tuesday, India defeated Singapore 16-1 in hockey. Additionally, two players in Judo qualified for the quarter-finals.


Tulika Maan missed chance to win a medal


India's judoka Tulika Maan missed out of a chance to win a medal after going down to Mongolia's Amaraikhan Adiyasuren in the bronze-medal play-off of the women's +78kg event.


The 25-year-old from Delhi, a silver medalist at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, lost to Adiyasuren 0-10 by ippon at Xiaoshan Linpu Gymnasium.


On Monday, the women's cricket team and the men's team won gold in 10 meter team air rifle shooting.
