Chennai: Meera Antony, 16 year old daughter of Tamil cinema actor and musician Vijay Antony, has died of suicide by hanging herself. She was a 12th class student in a private school in Chennai. Meera hanged herself at around 3 am on Tuesday morning in her house on DDK Road, Chennai.
It is being told that the actor's daughter was under stress for the last few days. After receiving information about the incident, Thenampet police reached the spot. Police have sent the body to Omanturar Hospital in Chennai for postmortem. A case of suicide has been registered and the incident is being investigated.
Composer Vijay Antony has been busy with his acting projects and gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, 'Raththam'. He recently conducted a concert in Chennai, which was a huge hit.
On September 19, Vijay Antony and his family were in for a rude shock after his daughter, Meera, was found dead at around 3 am at their residence in Alwarpet, Chennai. Reports suggest that the girl was battling depression.
Meera was rushed to the hospital in Chennai after the house help found her in her room. However, the doctors who examined her said she was brought dead.
Vijay Antony is a popular composer, predominantly working in Tamil cinema. After being a composer for several years, he also became a producer, actor, lyricist, editor, audio engineer and a director.
He is married to Fathima Vijay Antony, who also takes care of their own production house. Vijay and Fathima are parents to two daughters, Meera and Lara.
The news of Meera's untimely demise came across as a big shock to the people and the film industry. Sarathkumar, director Venkat Prabhu and several other celebrities from the film industry took to social media to offer condolences to the family.
