G20 Summit: Guests Start Arriving; Biden, Rishi Sunak Reaching Today



New Delhi: The national capital is all decked up magnificently to hold the G20 Summit on September 9 and 10. Dignitaries from across the world have started arriving in Delhi to participate in the mega event.


 19 countries and the European Union will participate in this summit. Apart from this, 9 more countries have been invited as guests in the summit.


Argentine President Alberto Fernandez arrived in India this morning. At the same time, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth and President of Nigeria Ahmed Tinubu have also reached. President Ahmed Tinubu was welcomed with Marathi tunes. He has arrived to join the G20 as a guest.

Rafale, Sukhoi deployed in G20 summit security


Meanwhile, there is news that the Indian Air Force has stopped the ongoing Trishul exercise on the China-Pakistan border. Fighters like Rafale, Sukhoi, MiG, Mirage and Chinook involved in the exercise have been deployed for the security of the G20 summit.



Spain's President tests Corona positive


On the other hand, Spain's President Pedro Sanchez got corona infected. He will not participate in the G20 summit. In his place, Vice President Nadia Calvino Santamaria and Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Alberes will come to India. British PM Rishi Sunak will arrive in India at 1.40 pm and US President Joe Biden at 6:55 pm.


Besides the foreign delegates parliamentarians and ministers in the current Cabinet, the G20 Summit dinner will be attended by some of the former senior leaders of the nation. 


Manmohan Singh, HD Deve Gowda also invited 


Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and HD Deve Gowda have also been invited to the G20 Summit dinner.


Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi will be holding more than 15 bilateral meetings with world leaders.


8th Sept: Leaders of US, Mauritius, Bangladeshi and USA.


9th Sept: UK, Japan, Germany and Italy.


10th Sept: PM will hold a working lunch meeting with President Macron of France.


Pull-asides: Canada, Comoros, Turkey, UAE, South Korea, EU/EC, Brazil and Nigeria.


Kharge not invited to dinner


Meanwhile, Congress chief and the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge has not been invited to the G20 gala dinner being hosted by the President on Saturday, his office has said. Mr Kharge holds a cabinet minister rank, and is the president of the country's largest opposition party.
