Bhopal: The students and the teachers of various schools in Bhopal and other cities of Madhya Pradesh celebrated Janmashtami on Wednesday. Dressed as Radha and Krishna, the students of the schools presented various events on the life of Lord Krishna.
Children arrived in schools dressed as Kanha. Events of Matki Phod, Dahi Handi were held at many places.
Janmashtami was celebrated on Wednesday at Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain. During this, Kanha was decorated with lemon and corn.
Bollywood actor Govinda will come to Bhopal on Thursday. He will participate in the Matki Phod Mahotsav to be held in Nehru Nagar. The team that breaks the pot will be given a reward of Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand.
This pot breaking festival is being organized on Janmashtami. South-West MLA PC Sharma and Jai Maa Ambe Seva Samiti are organizing this event. Corporator Yogendra Singh Guddu Chauhan said that the festival will start at 8 pm. Actor Govinda will also perform in this.
Actor Govinda had come to Bhopal last year also on the occasion of Janmashtami. He had attended the program held in Karond. He is coming to Bhopal for the second consecutive year.
