Bhopal: Assembly elections are going to be held in Madhya Pradesh at the end of November. While veteran leaders of BJP are holding record breaking public meetings in the state, Congress is also moving in the same direction. Congress has also started working on the strategy of holding public meetings of top leaders in MP. Under this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is visiting Shajapur district on September 30.
Rahul's visit to Shajapur will prove to be very important
Priyanka Gandhi had sounded the election trumpet in Madhya Pradesh on June 12 last. After this, now Rahul Gandhi is coming on election tour. Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President Rajeev Singh said that this is the first major tour programme of Rahul Gandhi in Madhya Pradesh before the assembly elections. Earlier, the people of Madhya Pradesh had given historic and unprecedented love to Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra. In view of this it is believed that Rahul's visit to Shajapur will prove to be very important for Congress for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.
Rahul's public meeting will be held in Polai Kalan
Rahul Gandhi will participate in the Jan Aakrosh Yatra being organized by Congress. Rahul will create an electoral atmosphere in favor of Congress by addressing a public meeting at Polai Kalan in Kalapipal assembly constituency of Shajapur. Former minister and co-chairman of the election campaign committee Jitu Patwari will reach here with Congress's Jan Akrosh Yatra.
Senior leaders including former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Digvijaya Singh and former Union Minister Suresh Pachauri will be present in this big program. Congress MLA from Kalapipal Kunal Chaudhary has intensified preparations for Rahul Gandhi's program. They have started preparing for the public meeting.
As part of the election campaign in Madhya Pradesh, till now Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has addressed public meetings in Jabalpur of Mahakaushal along with Gwalior of Gwalior-Chambal. At the same time, National President Mallikarjun Kharge has created an election atmosphere in the public meeting in Sagar, Bundelkhand. Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to visit Beohari in Shahdol on 8th August last month. However, it was postponed at the last moment.
Kalapipal is OBC dominated area
There is a significant number of Other Backward Class (OBC) voters in Kalapipal Assembly seat of Shajapur. Congress is demanding OBC quota in women's reservation. Along with this, Congress is also making caste census an issue. In such a situation, party leaders believe that OBCs are not getting benefits in proportion to their population. Caste census will be conducted after Congress comes to power. Madhya Pradesh Congress has also included caste census in its 11 guarantees.
Priyanka's meeting in Mohankheda
In view of the increasing number of tribal voters in Madhya Pradesh, Congress has made a strategy to woo the tribal class. Under this, Priyanka Gandhi will hold a big public meeting in Mohankheda of tribal dominated district Dhar. The program is proposed on October 5. Priyanka Gandhi will address the public meeting here. Before this, she can also visit Jain pilgrimage Mohankheda.
In the 2018 assembly elections, Congress had won 6 out of 7 assembly seats in Dhar district. In the 2020 by-election, Badnavar seat had gone to BJP. Rajvardhan Singh has been elected Dattigaon MLA from here. In 2020, Jyotiraditya left Congress along with Scindia and joined BJP and won the by-election.
