BJP Releases First List Of 41 Candidates For Rajasthan Elections-2023, Diya Kumari, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Kirodi Lal Meena To Contest; 7 MPs In List

Jaipur: Hours after the Election Commission of India announced the date for the Rajasthan Assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released its first list of the 41 candidates for the  Rajasthan Elections-2023.

The names of the candidates were finalized at a meeting of its Central Election Committee (CEC) that was chaired by the BJP President JP Nadda.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

After fielding parliamentarians in Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its initial list of 41 candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan elections, nominating seven Members of Parliament in key constituencies.

Notable among these selections is the candidature of Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore to contest from Jhotwara, Diya Kumari from Vidhyadhar Nagar, Baba Balaknath from Tijara, Hansraj Meena from Sapotra and Kirodi Lal Meena to contest from Sawai Madhopur.

List reflects BJP's electoral aspirations

The BJP's decision to field six MPs in Rajasthan reflects its electoral aspirations in the state, which holds 19 constituencies that have historically eluded BJP victories. This strategic move underscores the party's determination to expand its footprint and secure a strong presence in the forthcoming elections.

Elections will be held in the five crucial states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram between November 7 and 30, and the results will be declared on December 3, the Election Commission said Monday. All 200 seats in Rajasthan will see voting on November 23.
