New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate. ED had raided Sanjay Singh's house on Wednesday morning itself. Sanjay Singh has been arrested after several hours of interrogation in Delhi excise policy scam.
This arrest has been made regarding the alleged scam in Delhi's excise policy. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia is already in jail in this alleged scam case.
Former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain was also arrested on charges of another scam. At present he is on bail.
Sanjay Singh's lawyer Dheeraj Singh has said that he will approach the competent court for bail in this case.
“We will approach the competent court to seek bail and other reliefs,” he said.
Sanjay Singh's name also appeared in the ED charge sheet filed in the alleged liquor scam. This charge sheet was filed last year.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has raised questions on Sanjay Singh's arrest, calling it 'illegal'. At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party has said that 'the truth cannot be hidden.'
These people are losing 2024 election: Kejriwal
Launching a scathing attack against the BJP, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the ED's raid is a "desperate attempt". He said the probe agencies have not recovered a single penny so far in the alleged liquor scam.
Kejriwal said, “These people are losing the 2024 Lok Sabha election, that's why there was a raid on journalists yesterday, and now Sanjay Singh is being targeted. Many more people will be raided until the elections.”
After the arrest of Sanjay Singh, Aam Aadmi Party has issued a statement on its official X (Twitter) handle.
Sanjay Singh said, "Modi ji, I want to remind you that whenever oppression increases, the public's voice is raised against it. I am ready to die, fear is not acceptable. No matter how much torture is given to me, I will continue to speak against the corruption of Narendra Modi government and the mega scam of Adani."

Reactions of Sanjay Singh's father Dinesh and mother Radhika Singh have also come to light.
Dinesh Singh said, “I told him (Sanjay Singh) you go to jail, don't panic. ED did not find any evidence, but there was an order to arrest him, they arrested him. ,
His mother Radhika Singh said, "While leaving, my son told (us) not to worry and said that he would return soon."
Pictures of Sanjay Singh touching his mother's feet before leaving with the ED team have also surfaced. Later, Arvind Kejriwal and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Manoj Jha reached Sanjay Singh's house as mark of their support to the family.

Delhi Minister Atishi took a swipe at BJP over Singh's arrest, saying the panic of losing to the I.N.D.I.A bloc is clearly visible in the saffron party's actions.
AAP leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said the charges against Sanjay Singh were fictitious.
Congress reacts to Sanjay's arrest
Congress leader Meem Afzal says, “The work is being done according to the style of this government. Whoever speaks will go to jail. Whoever asks questions will go to jail.”
Afzal said, “Sanjay ji being arrested today is not a surprise for me. The way he speaks in Parliament or outside. He openly challenges the Prime Minister and his other leaders, so it was certain that he would have to go to jail, since this is the ritual that BJP is following these days.”
