Virat Kohli played a pivotal role in the Indian innings, achieving a significant milestone with his 50th century in ODIs. This accomplishment surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 centuries in ODI cricket. Notably, Sachin Tendulkar himself witnessed this historic moment from the stadium.

Virat reached his half-century in 59 balls and completed a century in 106 balls. After reaching the milestone, he bowed before Tendulkar and shared a celebratory flying kiss with his wife, Anushka Sharma.

Kohli broke another record

During his innings, Virat not only broke Tendulkar's record for the most centuries but also surpassed the record for the highest runs scored in a single ODI World Cup. Tendulkar had previously scored 673 runs in the 2003 World Cup, and now Virat boasts 711 runs in the current tournament.

Virat's exceptional performance saw him scoring 117 runs in 113 balls. David Beckham, who had earlier interacted with Sachin Tendulkar before the match, continued to show his sportsmanship by congratulating Virat Kohli after the conclusion of India's innings.
