Rajasthan: NEET aspirant found hanging in Kota; 25th suicide this year rocks coaching hub


The 25th case of suicide by a coaching student in Kota, Rajasthan this year has jolted the coaching hub and sent shock waves among the residents as well as citizens as youngsters continue to take the extreme step despite all efforts.


A 20-year-old aspiring NEET student from West Bengal was discovered hanging in his rented accommodation in Kota, with no suicide note found in his room, according to police reports on Tuesday.


The deceased, Faureed Hussain (20), originally from Birbhum district in West Bengal, had been diligently preparing for the medical entrance exam NEET at a coaching institute in Kota for approximately a year. He had taken up residence in Wauf Nagar since July of the current year, sharing the accommodation with fellow students from coaching institutes. Hussain was last seen in the afternoon hours on Monday.


Concerns arose when he did not emerge from his room by 8 pm. Friends attempted to contact him, but receiving no response, they alerted the house owner. 


Subsequently, the police were informed, and upon arrival, they forcibly entered the room to discover Hussain hanging. The authorities noted the absence of a suicide note, and the motive behind this tragic act remains unknown.


The Circle Inspector at Dadabari police station, Rajesh Pathak, stated that a post-mortem examination would be conducted once the deceased's parents arrive. This incident marks the 25th case of suicide by a coaching student in Kota this year.


It is noteworthy that on September 18, a 16-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh, also a NEET aspirant in Kota, took her own life by consuming a poisonous substance. This was the second suicide reported that month, following six cases in August.
