Bus catches fire in Madhya Pradesh's Guna after colliding with dumper, 13 people burnt alive

 

A passenger bus caught fire after colliding with a dumper in Guna, Madhya Pradesh late on Wednesday evening. 12 people were burnt alive. At the same time, the driver of the dumper has also died. In this way, 13 people have died in this accident. The administration has confirmed this. About 16 people got burnt. They have been admitted to the district hospital.

The accident happened around 8:30 pm on Wednesday night. Bus was going from Guna to Aaron. Tragically, the bus erupted in a massive fire, resulting in the reported death of 13 individuals due to burns. The majority of the injured passengers are reported to be in critical condition.

Swiftly responding to the situation, the administration took immediate control, initiating relief and rescue operations. The District Collector, Tarun Rathi, confirmed the loss of 13 lives and disclosed that approximately 16 people were presently undergoing treatment in the hospital. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced financial assistance, offering Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand each to the injured.

According to the District Collector's account of the accident, the bus overturned and caught fire after colliding with a dumper. The intensity of the fire resulted in multiple fatalities, and the injured were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The severity of the fire has made it difficult to identify many bodies, hindering recognition by their faces. Consequently, family members are struggling to identify their loved ones. Simultaneously, the administration has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident and those responsible, including the examination of dumper permits.

CM expresses grief

Expressing grief over the tragedy, the Chief Minister extended condolences to the affected families and assured the state government's support. He ordered an investigation into the incident to prevent similar accidents in the future, emphasizing the importance of ensuring proper treatment for the injured passengers.

In the aftermath of the bus fire, passengers in the front and middle seats managed to escape, but those seated at the rear were unable to exit, leading to the tragic loss of many lives. The accident occurred approximately seven kilometers away from Guna district headquarters.

Former Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Digvijaya Singh also conveyed their condolences. Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed sympathy for the bereaved families, praying for the departed souls' peaceful rest and strength for their loved ones. 

Meanwhile, Digvijaya Singh called for a high-level investigation into the incident, highlighting concerns about the bus operating without a permit and fitness, and urged strict action against those responsible.
