Rajasthan: Diya Kumari said this on her reported discord with Vasundhara Raje and responsibility entrusted to her'

Prior to the announcement of the Chief Minister post in Rajasthan, Diya Kumari was widely considered the frontrunner. However, with the unexpected naming of Bhajanlal Sharma, these speculations were put to rest.

Following Bhajan Lal Sharma's appointment as the new Chief Minister, discussions centered around whether he emerged victorious following the 'alleged dispute' within the royal family. There are rumors suggesting that Bhajan Lal Sharma gained an advantage in the Chief Ministerial race due to the alleged discord between former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Diya Singh.

When questioned about speculations regarding her purported exclusion from the Chief Minister position due to reported conflicts with former CM Vasundhara Raje, Diya Kumari, the Deputy CM-designate of Rajasthan, responded, "I don't comment on such matters. We have all worked together. She was there too, and I received her blessings as well."

Diya Kumari went on to express her satisfaction with the responsibility entrusted to her by the Prime Minister, emphasizing that women's safety, law and order, and development would be the top priorities.

Diya Kumari hails from the former royal family of Jaipur and entered politics in 2013, following in the footsteps of her grandmother Rajmata Gayatri Devi. She contested and won elections from Sawai Madhopur on a BJP ticket in 2013 and, in 2019, secured a victory in the Lok Sabha elections from the Rajsamand seat. It was Vasundhara Raje who initially introduced Diya Kumari to politics, but a reported dispute between the two has led to a rift over time.
