Bihar: BJP Ally HAM-Secular Predicts Imminent Collapse of Bihar Government, Said This about Potential Reconciliation with Nitish Kumar

On Friday, Santosh Kumar Suman, a leader of the Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular and ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), hinted that the Bihar government might crumble within a day or two.

Speculation is rife that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar could sever ties with the INDIA bloc and consider rejoining the National Democratic Alliance, as suggested by Suman, an MLC and the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Suman expressed uncertainty about the BJP's stance, emphasizing that his party HAM-Secular had not received explicit confirmation regarding a potential alliance with Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United.

"It appears to me that this government will fall in a day or two," he remarked during a media interaction.

BJP leaders have hinted at the possibility of renewing ties with Nitish

As fractures deepen in Nitish Kumar's relationships with the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress, BJP leaders have hinted at the possibility of renewing ties with him. Sushil Kumar Modi, a BJP leader, conveyed that doors in politics are never permanently closed, specifically referring to Kumar and the JD-U.

"As far as Kumar or the JD-U are concerned, doors are never permanently closed in politics. Closed doors open when the time comes, but whether they will open or not is for our central leadership to decide," stated Sushil Kumar Modi to reporters earlier in the day.

The BJP is actively maintaining communication with its Bihar allies, including Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan, Upendra Kushwaha, and Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, given the evolving political landscape in the state. Manjhi's party, with its four MLAs, holds potential influence in the state's power dynamics.

Having been part of the INDIA bloc previously, Manjhi's party switched to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance last year. BJP sources speculate that the inclusion of JD-U in their alliance could pave the way for the NDA's success in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, building on its impressive victory in Bihar during the 2019 elections where it secured 39 out of 40 seats.
