Madhya Pradesh: New government college will open in Shahdol, says CM Dr. Yadav; production of millet and drumstick will be promoted


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that a new government college will open in Shahdol. Tribal dominated Shahdol division will progress at a rapid pace. Dr. Yadav was addressing the inauguration and bhoomi pujan ceremony of transfer of funds to the eligible families under the food subsidy scheme and other development works in Shahdol on Saturday. 


Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has been the leader in the country in implementing the new education policy. New colleges and universities open new doors of development for the coming generation. Educational facilities will be increased in Shahdol region, so that the youth of the tribal community will become highly educated and join new jobs. 

Drumstick is also produced in large quantities in this area


He said drumstick i.e. green gram is also produced in large quantities in this area. Drumstick, considered unmatched in taste and health, is sent to other states. The scheme will be implemented to give recognition to its production and to benefit the producers.


Dr. Yadav transferred a total amount of Rs 29 crore 11 lakh through a single click under the Food Subsidy Scheme to 14 districts of Madhya Pradesh where people of Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya special backward tribes live in abundance. 


Dr. Yadav said that coaching arrangements for competitive examinations will also be made for students in tribal dominated development blocks of the state.



Farmers' income will increase with coarse grains, health will also improve


Chief Cinister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Modi has taken initiative for the development of the tribal class. At one time Millets were called the food of the poor, the main diet of our country has been rice, Kodo-Kudki, Jowar-Bajra. It is useful for health. Prime Minister Modi has emphasized on the use of coarse grains i.e. green grains. 


CM said the state government has decided to implement Rani Durgavati Srianna Protsahan Yojana to promote the production of food grains. Under the scheme, an additional amount of Rs 10 per kg will be provided as incentive to the farmers producing grains like Kodo-Kutki, Ragi, Jowar, Bajra etc. This amount will be transferred directly to the farmers' accounts.



Lack of resources will not come in the way of sports facilities


Earlier, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also inaugurated the Sports Complex in Shahdol. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state-of-the-art sports complex at Pandit Shambhunath Shukla University at a cost of Rs 1 crore will serve to hone the talent of talented players. Shahdol is a forest area. The natural beauty here is unique. 


The public greeted Chief Minister Dr. Yadav's Jan Aabhar Yatra in Shahdol by showering flowers. Dr. Yadav greeted the public. On both sides of the yatra route, people appeared eager to welcome him.
