Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the ongoing flower show organized on the Sabarmati Riverfront in Gujarat before concluding his two-day visit to his home state.



After attending an event in GIFT City near Gandhinagar as part of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Modi paid a surprise visit to the flower show organized by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on the Riverfront, said a civic official.



PM Modi took a stroll for nearly 15 minutes at the iconic venue before leaving for the airport, he said.


Modi was on a two-day Gujarat visit from January 9 during which he inaugurated the Vibrant Global Summit.



PM Modi has posted pictures from the Ahmedabad Flower Show, where he is seen enjoying the flora and beauty around him. 



The PM wrote on X, “After the @VibrantGujarat related programmes, went across to the Ahmedabad Flower Show. Here are some glimpses from there.”

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
