The Team India will be announced today for the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan starting next week.
The first T-20 match between India and Afghanistan will be played on January 11 in Mohali. The second T20 match will be played in Indore on 14 January and the third match will be played in Bengaluru on 17 January.
There is still doubt whether Test team captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play in this series or not.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj can be rested
Fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj can be rested in this series. Due to injury, Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami are also less likely to play.
In such a situation, it will be interesting to see who will take charge of the team. Can Suryakumar Yadav be made captain once again?
The selection committee of the Indian men's team led by Ajit Agarkar was to select the team on Friday itself, but it could not happen. Now it is expected that the team will be announced on Saturday.
This will be India's last T20 International series before the T20 World Cup starting from June 1. India had tied the series played in South Africa at 1-1. Before that, the team had won the series against Australia in India by 4-1.
Kolkata Knight Riders star batter Rinku Singh grabbed a lot of limelight with his heroics in IPL 2023. He then went on to make his name in international cricket and played many fine knocks for Team India. He will now look to contribute more in the series against Afghanistan, followed by the much-awaited T20 World Cup in June.
