Thousands of farmers gathered at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Thursday. These farmers are holding public meetings in support of their demands.
In this convention named Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat, farmers raised slogans against the central BJP government's policies related to agriculture and crfiticized the government.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha' (SKM), which led the farmers' protest on the Delhi border in 2020-21 in protest against the three agricultural laws, has said that a resolution was passed in the Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat to intensify the fight against the policies of the Central Government.
The police has given approval to organize this rally at Ramlila Maidan near New Delhi Railway Station on the condition that not more than 5,000 people will gather in it. Besides, no truck or trolley will be taken to the venue nor can any march be carried out in the grounds.
The farmers are pressing the Centre to accept their demands, including a law on the minimum support price (MSP) for crops. Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police has imposed traffic restrictions in the national capital.
