Calls for Action by Opposition Over Alleged Video of Teen Voting Multiple Times for BJP Candidate

The Congress and the Samajwadi Party have raised concerns and called for action from the Election Commission following the circulation of a video depicting a young person allegedly voting multiple times.

In the two-minute video, a teenager is seen casting votes using the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) for the BJP candidate Mukesh Rajput. Rajput is a BJP candidate from the Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, according to Election Commission data.

The Congress, in response to the video, has urged the Election Commission to address the issue promptly. They shared the video on social media, emphasizing the need for action to be taken.

Similarly, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also shared the video and called for intervention by the Election Commission, expressing concern over the incident.

As of now, neither local authorities nor the Election Commission have provided a response to the viral video.

This incident follows a previous viral video where a minor, allegedly the son of a BJP leader, was recorded casting a vote at a polling booth in Madhya Pradesh's Berasia in Bhopal. The opposition criticized the BJP for what they perceived as undermining the integrity of the electoral process.

As the video went viral, Congress slammed the saffron party, saying it had reduced the poll body to a child's plaything.

"BJP has turned the Election Commission into a child's plaything. In Bhopal, the BJP's district panchayat member Vinay Mehar got his minor son to cast his vote. Vinay Mehar also made a video of the time when he cast his vote. Vinay Mehar posted the video on Facebook," Piyush Babele, media advisor in the office of senior Congress leader Kamal Nath, had written.
