Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 'PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva' today in a ceremony, extending his congratulations to the people of the state. To popularise this new tourist service, a 50 per cent discount on fares has been given for the first month.
Dr. Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh has always been a key tourism hub and expressed confidence that the newly launched air service will enhance the travel experience for tourists, making it smoother and more enjoyable. The event also saw the presence of BJP state president Vishnudutt Sharma and other notable dignitaries.
Ticket booking counter inaugurated at Bhopal Airport
Mohan Yadav emphasized that improved air connectivity would benefit all sectors in the state, ushering in new dimensions of development. As part of the launch, Dr. Yadav inaugurated the ticket booking counter at Bhopal Airport and issued boarding passes to the first passengers.
Service aims to connect eight cities in the state
Furthermore, Dr. Yadav will inaugurate the 'PM Shri Tourism Air Service' in Gwalior on June 15 and in Ujjain on June 16. The service aims to connect eight cities in the state—Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Ujjain, Gwalior, Singrauli, and Khajuraho—through enhanced air travel.
Facilitating Easier Travel Across the State
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav pointed out that Madhya Pradesh's geographical area exceeds that of many European countries, and it also surpasses many countries in terms of population. The new air service is expected to significantly reduce travel time compared to traditional road and rail transport, particularly benefiting remote areas like Rewa and Singrauli.
Air ambulance service available at all major locations
Dr. Yadav also announced the provision of three types of air traffic facilities in the state, including an air ambulance service available at all major locations. This service, which has been operational even during election periods, is unique to Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted the state government's commitment to development, citing the unprecedented progress made in the past six months.
Country's First Helicopter Pilot Training School in Khajuraho
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that, with the support of the Prime Minister, the country's first helicopter pilot training school has been established in Khajuraho. The state government aims to set up pilot training institutes at locations that have airstrips and plans to offer degrees and diplomas through nearby universities.
Efforts underway to connect Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar with air services
This initiative is expected to promote employment-oriented education and attract investment to the state. Additionally, efforts are underway to connect both the Jyotirlingas, Omkareshwar and Mahakaleshwar, with air services, reducing travel time from Indore or Bhopal. Plans are also in place to enhance air connectivity to religious sites such as Orchha, Salkanpur, Katni, and Datia.
