The government in Bangladesh has announced a nationwide curfew to control the violence that erupted during the anti-reservation movement.
So far 35 people have died in the violence during the anti-reservation movement in Bangladesh.
In Bangladesh, students and youth are protesting against the reservation in government jobs given to the families of freedom fighters who took part in the 1971 independence war. But this movement has now taken a violent turn.
In view of the violence that has been going on for the last few days in many cities including the capital Dhaka, security forces have been deployed on a large scale.
Clashes have taken place between the police and the protesters at many places. But on Friday, after a prison in Narsingdi was attacked and hundreds of prisoners were freed, the Prime Minister's Office announced a nationwide curfew.
Government press secretary Naeemul Islam Khan said that now the army will be deployed to restore law and order.
